🗓 When & How to Book
Guests staying at a Disney World resort (or select hotels) can book and purchase Lightning Lanes beginning at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days before check-in.

🎯 Choosing Your Lightning Lane Pre-Selections for Lightning Lane Multi Pass
In most parks (Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot), pre-selections have tiers: you can pick either one Tier 1 + two Tier 2 attractions, or three Tier 2 attractions. Animal Kingdom has no tiers.
(FYI: After you scan into your first Lightning Lane on your park day, tiers no longer exist!)
Pick rides that:
• Are on your priority list
• Usually have long standby times
• Usually “sell out” of Lightning Lane availability quickly
🚶 During Your Park Day
Once you scan into one Lightning Lane (or after a booked one expires), you’re eligible to book another. Keep booking as you go.
Use the Tip Board in the app to monitor wait times & Lightning Lane availability.
If you have a Park Hopper ticket: you can only pre-select Lightning Lanes for one park. After you scan into your first Lightning Lane on your park day, you can book Lightning Lanes in any park (based on availability).
❓ FAQs/Tips
Return Time Window: Each Lightning Lane window lasts 1 hour. You can arrive up to 5 minutes early. And as far as being late? The technical rule is that there’s a 15-minute grace period after your Lightning Lane expires.
Missed Return Time: Try anyway—I’ve been up to 2 hours late with no problems! I wouldn’t bank on that, though.
Multiple Rides on the Same Attraction: Each Lightning Lane service only allows you to access the Lightning Lane for the attraction once. For repeats, use the standby queue. Or if you REALLY want an epic day, you can use all 3 services (or any combo of services) on the same day!
Ride Downtime during Return Window: You’ll be issued a “Lightning Lane-Select Experiences” pass. You can use it for select attractions or wait for the attraction that’s down to open back up. As soon as you get that Select Experiences Lightning Lane, it will open up a spot for you to book another available Lightning Lane.
✅ Is It Worth It?
If you…
have priority rides that tend to have long wait times,
plan to be at the parks during a high-crowd time,
want to maximize ride count and minimize waiting,
…then yes, it is worth it.
